Thanksgiving 2013: We were thankful that our adoption paperwork had just been mailed to Ethiopia and that we were waiting to be matched with a child. Maybe we’d be matched by next Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving 2014: We were thankful for our 3 month old baby girl who had been born that year. Once she turned 6 months old, we would be waiting for a match again from Ethiopia.
Thanksgiving 2015: We were thankful that I was 20 weeks pregnant with another baby girl. We hoped to celebrate next Thanksgiving being matched with a little boy in Ethiopia.
Thanksgiving 2016: We were thankful for our sassy 2 year old and our sweet 8 month old. We were nearing the top of the list and could be match any day in Ethiopia. Surely he’d be home by next Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving 2017: We were thankful (with heavy but hopeful hearts) that our adoption paperwork was redone and had been submitted to India for approval after Ethiopia shut down international adoptions. We hoped to be matched with a little boy in India by next Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving 2018: We are thankful for answered prayers, God’s perfect timing, and an end to that kind of waiting. This is the year! Judah Mackey is HOME and celebrating his very first Thanksgiving. We are so very thankful for our family of 5.
